The occasion was Samuel Gilbert Public School's Grade 4 Musical, ultimately performed on Monday, 15 September 1997 as part of Education Week - and in which Chantelle sang one verse of Colors Of The Wind.
Although a member of the school's Vocal Ensemble since 1994, this was Chantelle's first ever public solo performance.
An opportunity to perform the song, in full, came on 7 December, 1997, when she was invited to sing at an annual Christadelphian Sunday School anniversary presentation evening.
In auditioning for the part of Pocahontas, Chantelle sang Castle On A Cloud from Les Miserables.
