While Andrew Wilson's The History of the Christadelphians is a unique theological and sociological study of particular interest to Christadelphians, its appeal extends to a much broader denominational readership.  Here, for the very first time, students of history and the casual reader alike are treated to an intriguingly frank , open and captivating account of one of the least publicised fundamentalist sects ever to emerge out of 19th century England.

Baptised Believers in the Kingdom of God, or Christadelphians (as they eventually became known) viewed Christendom at large in much the same way as Christ viewed the institutionalised Jewish religion of his day astray from God, encumbered with the traditions of men and enmeshed in webs of hierarchial power and corruption.  Embracing a millenarian theology and with its roots firmly planted in both Old and New Testaments of the Bible, Christadelphians were determined to revive that which they perceived institutionalised and established religion had lost the purity of 1st century Christian doctrine and practice.

The product of over a decade of scholarly research, this is the most significant &

detailed historical probe into the cradle of Christadelphianism ever published:

a valuable insight into the past... with timely reflections upon the attitudes &

values which gave birth to & shaped the Christadelphian movement.

"This is a book long awaited by today's generation of Christadelphians in desperate need of focus & direction ... one thing can not be denied: It is a first-class piece of historical research upon the origins of our denomination, written with integrity from within, to meet the stringent & demanding criteria of a university thesis... That's something (despite all preceding plethora on the subject) to which we've not had privileged access before."

EJ Russell, Past Chairman, Australian Christadelphian Committee
