Blacktown Olympic Park - Friday 28 November 2003 The NSW PSSA State Boys Softball Team defeated Victoria in the final game of the series to seal an undefeated winning streak and secure the 2003 National Championship Title.

Coach Craig Morphett foreshadowed the likelihood of Team NSW going on tour in 2004, announcing plans were well under way for visits to the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and New Zealand. Wagga Wagga - Thursday 16 October 2003 The NSW PSSA State Boys Softball Team was announced today at the NSW State Championships' closing ceremony. Named in the squad was specialist Second Baseman / Short Stop, VJ King Jr (Samuel Gilbert Primary School, Sydney). VJ came to the notice of selectors during the 12-Team Carnival in which his team, Sydney West, secured 5th place.

In the lead-up to the October NSW State Carnival, the Sydney West Primary Schools Boys Softball Tournament convened at International Peace Park on Tuesday 26 August 2003. This is fertile ground for selectors as 10 area Representative Teams compete. The winners of Pool A (Castle Hill) met the winners of Pool B (Penrith) in the Grand Final.
The tightly fought game resulted in a tie (3 runs a-piece) at the end of regulation play. Castle Hill and Penrith were declared 2003 Joint Premiers.
At the completion of the Sydney West Tournament, selectors named the Sydney West PSSA Representative Team to contest the State Championships at the Wagga Wagga carnival between 14 & 16 October 2003.
